About Karen Lee DeBraal, LAc

Karen graduated with a Master’s in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Five Branches School of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Santa Cruz, CA in 1997. She earned a Bachelor’s in Environmental Studies form UC Santa Cruz and an Associate of Science in Animal Health Technology from Mount San Antonio College in Walnut, CA.Her original path of animal care led to a concern for the environmental health of the planet. This spiraled back into health care for people since the well-being of the earth and its inhabitants are directly connected. Chinese Medicine looks at the body as a microcosm of the earth and this mirrors Karen’s studies and unique experience.

After graduating, Karen began to study Japanese acupuncture, specifically a technique utilizing non-puncturing gold and silver needles, which are held on the acupuncture points. This interest progressed into Acutonics, a form of sound-healing, where tuning forks are held on points. Karen is studying to become a Certified Clinical Musician and finds playing harp to the afflicted most rewarding.

Karen believes affordable health care is a right and community acupuncture is a perfect way to bring Chinese Medicine to the people.

Karen is certified as a Diplomate of Acupuncture and as a diplomate of Chinese Herbs by NCCAOM and is licensed by the Oregon Medical Board.
